The Pollinator Garden at King’s Bend Scenic Overlook opened in 2019 to reduce erosion of the river bank and sedimentation in the river. By introducing many varieties of pollinator plants native to Alabama, FLFR has reduced the negative effects of stormwater runoff from the park and the highway. Native species plants are survivors that come back year after year to host birds, butterflies and other insects while retaining and reinforcing the soil on the Grand Staircase slope down to the river.
FLFR is inclusive of all members of the community.
