12. Helping 2 Senior

PROJECT CLOSED - FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

We need someone who knows how to install a drip system.  The controls are in but it needs emitters going to plants.  A couple of people could do this.  A trip to Home Depot or Lowe's will be needed.  Serve Santa Maria will reimburse expenses.
Next door the fence and gate need repairing.  The 2x4's are rotten. A 40-50 foot fence and gate needs to be disassembled and then rebuilt.  6-8 volunteers with tools could do this.  Whatever expenses are involved, Serve Santa Maria will reimburse you.  Two seniors would be so thankful. These two seniors live next door to each other.

  • Bring tools to complete the jobs.
  • Call me and I will give you phone numbers and addresses for the seniors. 805-264-5959.

15. Help a Senior

This project requires a special skill set.  The grace of God in you.  No judgment.  A heart for a senior who wants to be FREE from clutter.  When I visited her and saw the situation, I called her "a beginner hoarder."  She laughed.  She knows she is a hoarder. It's not serious yet.  The home does not smell yet.  She wants to be FREE, but needs the encouragement of others to start anew.  Isn't that what Jesus came to do?  Set us FREE from whatever imprisons us?  I gave her a vision of a new start in her home.  She liked it, but it's hard when you are imprisoned.  I gave her my card and said to call me if she changes her mind.  It reminded me of when Jesus asked the paralytic at the Pool of Bethesda, "Do you want to be healed?"  All she needs to do is say "Yes." like the paralytic did. She could cancel, but I'm praying for resurrection for her.  If you want to be one of the volunteers, call me and I will give you the address and phone number.
