Rebecca Erbelding Brunch and Book Talk
Join us on Sunday, April 19th, Yom HaShoah, for a bagel brunch and book talk with historian Rebecca Erbelding. Author of Rescue Board: The Untold Story of America’s Efforts to Save the Jews of Europe (Doubleday, 2018), Erbelding studies American responses to the Holocaust, and her work has been featured in film, print, and theater. Rescue Board is an incredibly relevant book to the Jewish people of DC in this moment, as it tells the story of heroism by US officials risking their lives and careers as they "begged, borrowed, bribed, laundered money, falsified documents, opened a refugee camp, and threw the weight of the United States government behind their plans, ultimately saving tens of thousands of lives."
Join us for brunch at 11am, with book talk at 12pm.
