Workshop on Dynamic Facilitation

and the Wisdom Council Process

Learn Practical Skills to Create Breakthrough Conversations that:

  • Help people work through feelings to achieve clarity,
  • Transform contentious debates into authentic conversations, and
  • Spark trust and the spirit of "We".

The Civic Council  (“Bürgerrat”) in Austria on: “How do we deal best with the influx of

refugees” – Credit: Martin Rausch.

Dynamic Facilitation (DF): Designed to uncover group wisdom by processes that result in deep, meaningful, and uncontentious conversations where different points of view are heard respectfully. The process builds consensus on difficult topcs that have previous divided groups. (for more info see: https://www.wisedemocracy.org/).

Citizen Wisdom Councils: This is a practical application of DF with a proven track record of success when applied to the community level. Ordinary citizens, chosen at random, use DF to address a particular community issue for local government councils to consider and implement. It has been so successful that a state in Austria held Wisdom Councils for 15 years. The convener said people were excited because the councils were changing the civic culture.

Seminar Leader:

Corrina serves on the board of The Center for Wise Democracy. She champions the model in a variety of settings, including industry, schools, and training seminars, a role which extends to senior associate at London-based Change That Matters.

Certified in Conflict Resolution, she has served in her community on the Santa Cruz Probation Department's Restorative Justice board for first time offenders (a nationally acclaimed initiative). She is the president of the Great Questions Foundation 501(c)3, and a founding member of WomenRise for Global Peace. Corrina was the TV host/moderator for the fourth annual Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo, and a longtime moderator for workshop presenters at the annual Ecological Farming Conference at Asilomar, Pacific Grove, California. Born in the British Isles of Scots-Irish lineage, she has resided in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 35 years.

Where DF has been taught:

All over the world, including London, Frankfurt, Moscow, Vienna, Bangkok, Washington D.C., and other U.S cities, Zurich, Singapore, and Australia. The experiential format offers opportunities for significant personal growth and for making progress on issues we all care about.
